Grand Strand Story Network TOS
Grand Strand Story Network exists to listen to, preserve, and share personal stories rooted in the communities of the Grand Strand. These Terms of Service explain how stories are submitted, how they may be used, and how rights and responsibilities are handled.
By submitting content to this site, you agree to the following terms.
1. Submissions and Personal Responsibility
By submitting a story, you represent and warrant that:
- The content is your original work or is shared with permission.
- You have the right to submit the content.
- The content does not knowingly infringe upon the rights of any third party, including copyright, privacy, or reputation rights.
Responsibility for the content of a submission remains with the submitter.
2. License to Use Submitted Content
By submitting a story, you grant Grand Strand Story Network a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to review, edit, archive, reproduce, and publish the submitted content in connection with the mission of the network.
This license does not transfer ownership.
You retain ownership of your story.
3. Submission Does Not Guarantee Publication
Submission of a story does not guarantee publication.
Grand Strand Story Network reserves the right, at its discretion, to:
- publish,
- edit,
- decline,
- archive,
- or remove content at any time.
This includes removal after publication if circumstances change or concerns arise.
4. Nature of Stories and Factual Accuracy
Stories shared on this network are personal narratives and lived experiences submitted by community members.
Unless explicitly stated, Grand Strand Story Network does not independently verify factual claims and presents stories as personal reflections rather than statements of objective fact.
5. Contact Information and Authorship
To submit a story, contributors are required to provide a name and email address.
This information is used solely for:
- authorship verification,
- obtaining consent,
- clarification if needed,
- and responsible stewardship of submitted stories.
Contact information is not used for marketing or solicitation and is not publicly displayed unless the contributor explicitly requests attribution.
6. Third-Party Claims and Takedown Requests
If you believe content published on this site infringes your rights or causes harm, please contact us promptly.
Grand Strand Story Network will review all good-faith takedown requests and, where appropriate, may remove or modify content.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Grand Strand Story Network, its owners, and affiliates from claims arising out of your submitted content, to the extent permitted by law.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Grand Strand Story Network shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the submission or publication of content.
